From vision to reality

Pixel to Stone is the result of over ten years of passion for stonework and the desire to transform timeless motifs into lasting material. As a master stonemason and sculptor, I began engraving artistic motifs in stone more than ten years ago – back then still using traditional sandblasting techniques from gravestone production.

From sandblasting to laser engraving

The first designs were created using a complex sandblasting process with foil masks: Each intricate image had to be manually redrawn in CAD, the foil precisely plotted, painstakingly removed, and finally sandblasted. A single design could take four to six hours – a process that demanded the utmost precision and patience.

Today, I rely on modern CO₂ laser technology that combines tradition and innovation. A 60×40 cm stone slab is now engraved fully automatically – in approximately 2 hours of laser time. Including preparation and post-processing, a customer-ready slab is completed in 2.5 to 3 hours. The result: the same handcrafted quality, but significantly more efficient and with even finer details.

Handmade in the workshop

Each plaque is created in my workshop – a lovingly converted garage where traditional stonemasonry meets state-of-the-art laser technology. Here, every piece is crafted with care and passion, from material selection and engraving to the final finishing.
